Frozen Breastmilk
Can someone explain to me why I can't keep thawed out milk in the fridge for more than 24 hours? I usually pump and freeze it right away. My husband thawed out 2 5oz bags overnight and I really do not want to throw it out. I know that I can use it, but then I have to pump which is not easy during the day when I am at home with the 2 girls.
My daughter will go to daycare tomorrow, do you think it would be alright to send it? Or is that just way too long?

Re: Frozen Breastmilk
freezing destroys the enzymes which inhibit bacterial growth so bacteria will start to grow after 24h.
I've used milk that was about 28h defrosted but not more. how did dh defrost? just put in the fridge? if so, then I'd say yes b/c it wasnt defrosted 24h. but I'd smell or taste it first to be sure. this is why I hate using frozen milk. If dd doesnt drink it at dc, then it gets tossed and I cry

Tossing any kind BM stinks! I remember I was pumping for DD and pumping was so hard for me. I got 5 oz and then something happened and it SPILLED all over the place. Gone. Every last drop. I was so upset.
