Re: Ideas w/o oven

When we were remodeling our kitchen and I didn't have a stove/oven for a couple weeks I used my crockpot daily We don't have a microwave, but we do have a convection toaster oven (from Target) that can fit a (small) whole chicken in it as well. Maybe buy one of those until you can get an oven?

Here's a blog of a lady who is using her crockpot every day for a year: Lots of ideas there!

Re: Ideas w/o oven

funny. we had a while where the only things we could use at my moms was the oven ( wall mounted) and the barbeque and micro.
So your stove and oven are kaput?
I like grilled things in the summer anyway. and you can to veggies on the grill. Altom brown did this fish recipe for a micro, i do it in the oven and it is yummy.,00.html
I have a couple of chicken/ fish recipes that use grill. here...
Almost anything that needs to be done on a stove with a saute pan, can be done on the grill (especially easy if you have a gas grill with an extra burner) in a cast iron or other non stick or oven safe pan.
Or in the case of csome of my recipes, instead of cutting the meat up to saute it, skewer it or leave it whole.
Good luck.
Oh and you could go to the store and pick up an electric pot, or a camp stove. then at least you would have a sove ( you have to use camp stoves outside though).
