The agony of waiting

We are waiting to hear back from a potential birth family - they have our profile and have indicated they are interested in us as a family but we haven't heard boo since, and are still waiting o find out of they want us to be the adoptive family. I know these things can move slowly, but its still a pain to wait. And the baby is due in 6 weeks! Ah, just needed to vent.

Oh man mama, that stinks, I would just try to keep very busy and not think about it, Have you heard anything from your social worker, I would call and ask, have they moved onto another family, are they just still sitting with the idea, obviously it is a huge decision for them.

See our agency never let us know that anybody looked at our profile until our Bmom wanted to meet us, they were really great about not getting our hopes up.
I hope it all woks out for you. I also know nothing I can say will magically make it happen. Sorry.

We found out about this potential baby through a friend, so we are going outside our agency on this one (the agency will help with finalizing and with the intrastate stuff). My friend is going to check in with them, see where they are at in their process.

Our agency doesn't let us know if anyone is looking at our profile either - another beef I have, I would feel better about the process if I at least knew people were considering us. I mean, we look pretty damn good on paper if I do say so myself. But we've only had one birthmom choose us, and that fell through. So I don't even know if anyone else has even seen our profile.

Agh, just venting. It would be less on my mind if the boys weren't asking me about "When is our baby coming? Its taking a long time!" EVERY day.

I totally understand! We have been down that road more than I'd like to remember and every time the phone rings your heart pounds and you wonder...'is this 'THE' call???'...

Thanks! We got a call from the birth mom's mom last weekend, and thought it went well. She was talking with her daughter and said they would get back to us during the week. Since then we haven't heard anything again. My DH is convinced it isn't going to happen, so my friend who got this all set up in the first place is checking with the birth family to see how things are on their end. So STILL waiting...
