Wade Michael is here!!!

Wade Michael joined our family on May 27, 2008 at 12:07 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 21 ¼ inches long. We went to the hospital at 6:00 pm on the 26th, so I could be induced. The doctor was afraid Wade was going to be bigger than Tate (9 lbs. 4 ¾ oz.) and that I might have trouble. My blood pressure was also high and not going down. I was put on pitocin at 2:00 a.m. after trying another med to get things going. I would have steady contractions for a while and then only have one or two in an hour. Finally, contractions leveled out and the hard labor began at 12:00p.m. Seven minutes later, Wade was born with the cord wrapped around his head, leg, and foot. There was also a knot in it farther back. The Lord was definitely watching over our little boy.

Everyone is doing well. Wade had his days and nights mixed up for a while, but that’s getting much better He only wakes up about twice during the night which I am thankful for. Tate thinks Wade is pretty neat and wants to help all of the time. Sometimes I don’t really want his help, but I’m glad he wants to be around Wade. My blood pressure is still slightly elevated, so I’m on a med for that right now.

Wow, never heard of the cord wrapped in three different places before. Glad everything is okay, and congrats on your new little man!
