Re: Can't take any more
Mine went through this stage. I would hold his hand when he started flailing and I'd put it to my mouth and I'd blow raspberries or I'd let him put his finger in my mouth and I'd pull it out and make popping sounds. Somehow the making it a little game settled him down. After awhile I could just see him start getting a little frantic and I'd say "Where's my baby fingers? Huh?" and he'd put them to my mouth and then settle down.
It works itself out. Hang in there.

Re: Can't take any more
I had to hold #2 hands or he scratched up my gums, lol!
IT is a stage. Maybe start swaddling again, haha or a straight jacket.

Re: Can't take any more
my almost 3mo just started doing this. It almost looks like he's doing a wind up pitch for baseball...I thought it was from gas pain. He seems better if I stop and try to burp him or give him gas drops (he is REALLY hard to get burps out of) or I try rocking him to get him to poo and then he seems better too. I'm hoping its a phase because it hurts when he hits me or yanks himself off while nursing

Re: Can't take any more
it sounds like a phase to me. hes getting older and getting more alert, therefore a lot more distracted while nursing. My first 2 babies went through it and it eventually passed. Hang in there, youre doing great!

Re: Can't take any more
My son was the same way for a couple of months, but now at 7 months he doesn't do it anymore. I would lay him down and just say no baby! real soft in his ear and try rubbing his back and hair. He was about 5 months when he did that too though. So about the same age as your little one.

Re: Can't take any more
my dd went through the same phase. i did the same as pps have said, took her off and settled her down and then tried again. i think that is the age when they are so excited to be aware of what it going on around them. now she sometimes gets excited, but mainly she likes to kick her legs or try to push off with her legs while nursing...just discovering new things.
and hang in there!

Re: Can't take any more
Definitely that is an annoying stage. But, this too shall pass. Hang in there, mama. It will get better, again.
