vitamins and food for baby?
My dd just had her 6 month check up, and is growing perfectly. So my ped's tells me she needs to start 3 meals a day! What!?! Is something wrong with breastmilk?
If she starts eating 3 meals a day I am afraid I will lose my supply. She is already eating some cereal and fruits and veggies (I reluctantly started sooner than I wanted, but that's another story). Why does she need more? Does anyone else have their babe on vitamins for flouride? I am not too sure about this and am looking for some guidance. Is it really necessary? TIA

keep doing what your doing mama!!! baby needs nothing till 12 months.. If she isnt intersted in food dont give it. We started offering a t 7 months he wanted food all the time then now he's 10 months and all he wants is mama or crackers.. my dr said dont worry about until you stop bfing or he gets over one

Re: vitamins and food for baby?
Solids are just for practice during the first year, as breastmilk should be the primary source of nutrition.
Ella doesn't take vitamins or flouride.

Re: vitamins and food for baby?
We started dd on solids at 9 months and she only gets a few spoonfuls every few days. I would switch peds if I were you. That is ignorance talking.

Thanks mama's for your input. Now I am really confused!?! I have been thinking for a while maybe we need a new peds. I really like her but she gives us a hard time about the vax schedule I want and is not very green or crunchy
. I just have no idea how to find a new one . Oh well I guess the search is on...

Re: vitamins and food for baby?
Lor eats twice a day (we started solids about 10 days ago) but i nurse her first...that way she is getting primarily breast milk...but that girl can eat!

Discuss is in the top left. If you look up your region (under tribes, I think)---you can post a thread on green/crunchy/selected vac pediatrician (or something like that). That's how I found my amazing one here in Florida. No need to give supplements, vitamins or anything. Mine ebf for the first 12 months. Great milk supply still and perfect baby. Most of the doctors are really good at what they're trained for : diagnosing. I don't use mine for other things. Hope this helps a bit!
