Re: Should I Allow A Pacifier?

I would be patient and hopefully he will find his thumb like my daught. did pretty early on. She really never took to a pacifier anyway. At 11wks , you are the soother for the most part. My daught. fell asleep at the boob also but that's just how it is when you are nursing a newborn. I don't think the pacifier would hurt once in a while.
I assume you are nursing on demand? I think I remember my daught. nursing for 45 min. in the beginning also. They have small stomachs and need to eat often..and the breastmilk makes them sleepy. I always called it "the milk stupor".

All I can say is that you will have to get used to being the sole provider if you are a nursing mom. I went through the same thing...and unless our men can lactate there's not much they can do in the early months. It does get me..but right now...keep it up!
My hubby would walk our daught. up and down the hall, take her outside, when she was fussy.. he did what he could..
good luck!
