BPA free pacifiers - reg vs. orthodontic
Hi ~
At home DD does not use a pacifier, however she does occassionally use one when at daycare. I was using the green soothie pacifier that was given to us at birth at the hospital. DD is now almost 4 months, and I thought I should upgrade her to one for her age (as I heard that having a non-age-appropriate one can cause problems with tooth development) I was going to get this one: http://www.nestbyswanky.com/item_65/...-Pacifiers.htm Does anyone know advantages/disadvantages of regular vs. orthodontic? TIA!

Re: BPA free pacifiers - reg vs. orthodontic
Thanks for the link. I like thesofterlanding.com. I didn't see anything about straight vs. orthodontic though... Are there any pedi dentists out there in DS world?

Re: BPA free pacifiers - reg vs. orthodontic
Keeping her on the soothie isnt going to hurt her. The only difference between th green "newborn" soothies and the super soothies meant for older kids (which most HATE) is the nipple part is thicker and less flexible. The sizing is identical. I think the sixzing issues apply more to orthodontic pacifiers which generally have multiple sizes. Also, id she likes the shape of the soothie there is good chance she'll reject anything else.

The Soothie is BPA free.
I think pacifier choice is really up to the kid. And if she only uses at daycare I am sure she will lose it long before it becomes an issue with teeth. Jenn
