Re: moonprysm
Haha. I feel loved, lol.
Well, DH was supposed to stay with a friend in town and bring DS to me to nurse (although he'd admitted he'd probably skip one or two to save gas). His friend ended up going to work, so bless his heart, he spent most of the day walking the halls of the hospital and brought DS to me to nurse every time (except once, and that was because we were doing relaxation techniques, so he went ahead and gave him a bottle). His mother and sister came to town for the second day and basically did the same thing - hung around the hospital (Although thankfully the second day was much shorter). I was so lucky to have their support (although SIL thinks I should've just given them formula and let them take him home with them...long story, but SIL isn't the most supportive, although she's not really un-supportive either...ahrd to explain). The class was pretty good. A little more medically-minded than I'd expected (of course, being a up/uc person, anything medical is going to be, lol), but pretty good. I learned a few things I didn't know, but about 90% of the material wasn't new to me. I think I've actually learned more reading the books we have to read for our certification than I did in the class, but the class gave me a chance to do some hands-on techniques, so that was helpful. I can't wait to attend my first birth!!As far as the supplementing, DS is now pretty regularly only getting 4-6oz a day. He goes from his midnight bottle until 6 or 8 at night with just breastfeeding (and his solids in the morning). Then he gets 1 or 2 bottles, has his nighttime solids, and his midnight bottle. I'm very excited and sooo happy to have gotten rid of as much formula as we have. I meant to take him for a weight check this morning to make sure he's still gaining weight, but I slept in. lol But I'm pretty sure he's just fine.
