Help with pling....PLEASE!!!

Well, we ec'd my dd early on and she was pooping on the potty at 7 months. I went back to work part time, so that sort of went down the drain. Fast forward to 2 years. She was doing really well, peeing and pooping on the potty. Little brother was born and she hasn't pooped on the potty since then. What do I do? She is pretty much in panties all the time (except when we know she is going to poop, then she goes into a pull up, because I am just SICK and TIRED or scraping stinky poop off of her undies). How can I break this cycle? Anytime I ask her to sit on the potty and try to poop, she just says, "I can't" and won't even try, when I KNOW she has to go.

Also, my 7yo ds is showing signs of being ready to night train (I know this sounds REALLY old to some of you, but he has some special needs and upon his specialists' advice, we chose to wait until his body was really ready). So, now he is ready, but I'm not sure how to go about it, since I haven't really night trained anyone yet. My dd wakes up dry most of the time, so she is already on the way. Do I just wake him and take him to the potty?

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Help with pling....PLEASE!!!

We haven't officially night trained DS either. We did start by taking him during the night before we went to bed, but he'd never fully wake up. We think he is such a sound sleeper we need to wait until he is a little older.

I got some pretty good info from a lady who was on the Today Show last week. She is a nurse that runs potty training classes. She suggests giving the power completely to the child. Instead of asking/telling them to go sit on the potty, you show the child where the potty is and tell them when they feel the need to go to sit down and go. If the child has an accident, they are given a towel and shown how to help clean it up (there wasn't a mention of poopy acccidents).
