Re: am I a bad mom? TV question
Since I turned out ok I have never thought tv was a bad thing
My DD loves Play with me Seasame And I can't get enough of Joe from Blue's Clues Plus kids need a down time. I say let'em watch it They learn a lot from tv. The tv is on all day here but mainly for background noise as my DS can't sit still for more than 10 mins.

On Topic- no, I don't think its bad. I have the TV on as background noise a lot. DD doesn't even pay attention to it. I usually have Stargate SG-1 going, then when an episode ends, I may or may not start up another depending on what room I'm in or if I got busy with something!

Re: am I a bad mom? TV question
I left my baby in front of Baby Einstein while I cleaned the house the other day. I did feel guilty! He had already played in his crib while I was doing something else. I usually try to have music on during the day instead of TV though.
I don't think TV is bad though, everything in moderation. What about computer screens?? DS watches the computer more than TV. Oh, and OMG about the nazi comment. LOL!! That is what my DH calls some of the opinions on MDC.

Re: am I a bad mom? TV question
We don't have tv issues in our house. I usually have it on in the background be we are outside most of the day. I think tv isn't a bad thing, it's just how you use it. Use it to your advantage. There are wonderful shows that aid in kids learning. Heck, my 4 year old dd is speaking in Spanish thanks to Dora and Diego!!
They are a lot of great Christian shows, History programs and ect. I think you need to set limits. I would think that most of us grew up watching Sat. morning cartoons and we turned out to be wonderful, caring mommies. If you see that tv is abused in your house and is turning into a problem, limit it. No biggy. Last edited by hollyhobby30; 05-14-2006 at 10:21 PM. |
