Dehydrator question - need help quick :)

Hi! I've been wanting to try a dehydrator and someone on freecycle gave us one, soooo nice!

Anyways, I decided to try it out and put a few things in to try... anyways... um... how do I know when they're done? I have some sliced strawberries and some pineapple (some grapes, they're miles from being done!). The strawberries are getting close but I have idea what is close enough and if they're still feeling really soft just because they're hot or because they're not done

Re: Dehydrator question - need help quick :)

with fruit u can just do it to ur own taste b/c it doesn't have to be cooked to a certain temp. to eat it. With meat though it should be chewy but not tough. I usually have jerkey done in about 4-5 hours using the hghest tepm. If you have any more specific questons u can pm me I have a manual with mine that gives directions for different foods & crafts.
