Re: Milk allergies?

my boys have tons of mucous-like bms (dr. said it was because the milk was irritating the stomach so badly, and that it should clear up soon), reflux, breathing issues (stride), they scream from about 4 pm til bedtime at 830, and they projectile vomit at least once a day. they have been on nutramigen concentrate for about 2 weeks now. their stools have not gotten better, but they are much happier babies. if everything doesn't clear up soon, i might talk to the doc about neocate.

I'm with you on this (including the eating disorder part)! I had and have enough stress taking care of DS by myself, so having to go on the elimination diet would have probably been bad for everyone. I applaud the mamas who can do it though, but it's not for everyone.

BTW, DS was having really bad bloody poops, which pretty much disappeared as soon as he started with Neocate exclusively.

Re: Milk allergies?

We still haven't changed her formula. Still not sure if that is the cause but it must be because none of the meds that she has been on is clearing it up. She has had this for a month now and 2 other times before that but didn't last this long. I don't really know what to do. The doctor just keeps giving her inhalers and antibiotics. I'm getting very tired and frustrated.

Mama, what doctor are you taking her to? Your pedi, or a specialist? I'm only asking because in order for us to get put on the Neocate, we had to take dd to an allergist. Then he put her on it, and helped us get WIC to cover it. I just wasn't sure if you had gone that route already. I hope your poor baby feels better soon! to you!

Re: Milk allergies?

So the doctor put her on Allimentum for a month to see if there is a change. She still has it. It has been over a month now. I really hope this works. Wish us luck

Re: Milk allergies?

My daughter has milk protein intolerance. We are using Alimentum. It has helped so much. A friend of mine has a little girl who had to have neocate (spelling?). It was so expensive! Milk issues suck! Wishing your little one well.
