Milk allergy?
My son is just over 12 months. He has been on soy formula since switching to formula due to going through all the others with no success. We tried switching him to whole milk and had 6+ poopie diapers a day. So when at WIC this week we requested lactose free milk since everyone told me that he was lactose intolerant. We tried it tonight and he woke up puking. BAD puking
. We have changed clothes 3 times and taken 2 bathes and have all the bed sheets(we cosleep) and lots of towels in the washer! We aren't having fun! Is this a milk allergy? And does anyone know what WIC will give if it is? I really have no reason to believe he is sick and think this is from the Lactaid.

Re: Milk allergy?
If your LO has a confirmed milk protein allergy, you'll need to get it in writing from your doctor. WIC will accept it on a prescription slip from the ped
The only alternative WIC will give is a soy formula. It's called Bright Beginnings. You go to the office once monthly to pick it up or I think you can have it delivered to your home. We just went thru this with WIC and milk. DD isnt lactose intolerant, it's a dermatological reaction I'm watching for. I didnt want to go the soy formula route with WIC and the pedi we saw isnt our reg ped so, he wouldnt write up for the allergy test. I took DD off dairy completely and get organic soy out of pocket now. It's put our grocery bill back on the more expensive side but, it's been worth it! Her excema is clearing up really well now too! No more runny nose either If you think your LO is lactose intolerant, you might try smaller amounts at a time and feed more frequently. I did that with DD when she was having some trouble with keeping her formula down at about 1-4mos old. It worked well for us! Or, just take him off it completely for about a week or two and sub soy, and see how milk works after that. Good luck!!!
