Exclamation Question about Similac

I was using Enfamil Lipil and everything was fine with that one with no problems however I wanted to switch to RTF formula and I really really liked the similac rtf bottles a lot better so I switched to Advanced to see how things went. She doesn't spit up with it and all seems to be going well, however she doesn't poop as often as she used to. It use to be every evening before her bedtime bottle that she would go and now sometimes its 2-3 days in between. And its really messy and runny. She has been on this stuff for at least 3 weeks now. Should I just leave things be or should I switch to a different kind of similac? I've heard pros and cons about the organic similac with the natural sugar thats used it in.

Thanks for any insight you can give me!

Honestly I think she would be fine to stay on the similac. Babies poop patterns are so sporatic it could just be a poop phase.

Re: Question about Similac

before my son ended up on similac alimentum he was on many types and the similac advance constipated him more than the enfamil. he has lots of bloating on every formula other than the alimentum but his poop was really hard one the similac advance.

Re: Question about Similac

My baby girl went 3-4 days without a poop once. Im bfing and the dr told me this just means that she is getting just what she needs and not to worry.
Im assuming it would be the same with formula?

I wouldnt worry about the poop thing. But Im sure its a pain if its explosive and a mess each time. But hey we are CDing mamas....We can handle poop....Right? LOL

Thankfully my little girl likes to use the potty already and so only once has it made it in the diaper thankfully. However when she is going on the potty there is lots of gas and it takes her about 10 minutes to finish going and its not solid. Oh well, I guess I will assume she is ok. Especially since she isn't acting like she is constipated or anything. She is such a happy baby that I will just leave things alone. Thanks!

Re: Question about Similac

If she's not experiencing any pain while pooping, then you're fine. My DD has been on Similac since about 4 months, and she's doing great with it.

Re: Question about Similac

I actually had the opposite effect.. with Enfamil Payton was constipated really bad.. when I switched to Similac it got 100 times better.

As long as she is not straining when she poo's you are A okay.
