First time mommie needs HELP re sick baby

My baby is 11 months and he has a pretty bad cold (he's raspy and congested no green/yellow mucus though) what can I do to make him feel better? He's feeling so bad and I don't know what to do. Also he has an under arm temp of 99 is that high??? HELP ME!!

His temp sounds fine to me... but do watch it.

If you have a humidifier, run it. Otherwise, we really liked warm baths with vicks rub or the vicks baby bath-- fluids, rest, sleep.

I'm really hesitant to give cold meds or any kind--

I generally don't worry about a fever under about 102. Have you tried some Vick's vapor rub? I believe you can even make your own by mixing some vasoline and euclyptus oil (if you have any). I think they also make things that plug into the wall now if you don't wanna rub it on his chest.
