I've seen those advertised. Great for the tech-savvy but pen and paper works better. It's just TOO high tech for caring for a newborn, imo.

Probably great for multiples, or maybe even in NICU settings, but for the average person, it's just one more useless tool.

I am one of those that wrote down every wet and dirty diaper change and every feeding (noting which side of course) for the first 2 weeks of my first daughter's life.

We actually did buy an itzbeen for our 2nd daughter and it was great! Quite a nifty little gadget. It even has a little light on it (flashlight for middle of the night diaper changes). It was very handy and was a super easy way for me to get a feel for how often my newborn was peeing and nursing.

I can see how certain types of parents might want to buy an item like that, but personally, I think it's a huge waste of money and just another way to further detach yourself from your baby.

"Hmmm, Junior last had a poopy diaper 30 min. ago, and he ate 45 min. ago, so I'm just not sure what's wrong!"

I dunno, I am not the type to care about how many poopy diapers DS had in a day, or how many times he nursed....I change him when he's wet, feed him when he's hungry, put him down for a nap when he's tired. I guess if you like to keep track of things, this would be neat, but I don't.

Honestly, when I had my son I could NEVER remember anything. I was exhausted and he has some physical problems so we lived at doctors offices, etc. Yes, eventually you fall into a schedule, but it takes a bit.

Not saying I want one or will use one next time, but I can definitely see this as being handy to some people.
