HELP!
Have been CDing for over 5 mos, and been using Charlie's soap for all laundry. I usually do a cold/cold cycle, then hot or warm/cold depending on what I am washing. I am always sure to rinse and rinse, even if I do an extra hot rinse with no soap. I have been advised to "rinse until I don't see any more suds" in the hot rinse, which I do... I am concerned that something in our washing regiment is still causing rashes. No fabric softener, and I have ruled out any dietary issues. It manifests itself in a yeast- looking rash, and only on the tummy and legs, not the butt. When I put him in disposables (YUK!) it clears. When I return to cloth, it comes back. I have even boiled prefolds, wipes, etc, and still have the same results. Should I change up my detergent? Any low-cost suggestions? TIA for any input. jj |

Re: Rinsing dipes completely clean
There has been a few threads posted on here about Charlies soap causing rashes! It could very well be the detergent! I would switch. We use Purex Free and Clear here and love it!
Heres a link to the other thread http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...light=charlies

Re: Rinsing dipes completely clean
A change in detergent might be worth it. Can't hurt to try. I use Purex Free and Clear and it's smooth sailing so far. Good luck!

Re: Rinsing dipes completely clean
We use Sun (although we are not very long in CD, omnly a few months) and so far so good. I just a tsp of Sun, 2 squirts of SImple green and a tad of Washing soda. I do a cold soak, hot wash with all the detergent and hot wash without and so far so good...

Re: Rinsing dipes completely clean
OK, thanks for the good places to start. I have been reading mixed reviews on some of the detergents. I will start with whichever of these I first come across! I am going to the grocery store today...So grateful for your input! |
