dh is up for promotion and there is an opening coming up for Jackson ms. he wants to go for it, I am saying no, I have heard nothing but bad things about jackson. anybody live there, been there, any info please!!!!

I used to live in MS. I hate it. I don't know I lived there as long as I did (was raised there-I guess I didn't have a choice). I lived about 1-1/2 hrs. south of Jackson. I know there used to be a lot of gangs there and probably still are. I would live in or near Tupelo if I had to but anywhere else-YUK!

But hey, pray about it and make your own decisions. There's gotta' be some good neighborhoods, too. There always is.

My husband and I live around 10 minutes from Jackson. We moved here about 2 years ago from Michigan. It is the worse thing we ever did. We had to come for a job.If we had to do it again we would have stayed. The crime is horrible and I mean horrible. The schools are really bad. We had to put my daughter in private school. I wish I had something positive to tell you. I just want to tell you the truth. I wish someone had of with me. Pm me if you would like anymore info.

Aww I'm sorry to read bad things about Mississippi. Not all of the state is that bad and probably not as bad as lots of other states. We have beautiful places to live outside the Jackson city limits. There are good schools in Clinton, Brandon, Madison, Ridgeland, etc. I can see how living in one particular area might influence you, but I promise there is more to Mississippi than just Jackson!
