Re: Anyone have low thyroid issues during pregnancy? HELP!

Are the symptoms for low thyroid hair loss, weight gain and fatigue? If so, thats what the heart dr thought I had when I had my heart problem show up in May. They did tests and said my levels were low. However, when my ob tested me a few weeks earlier, she said they were fine. One symptom the dr said was a high heart rate. The day I went into the er, my rate was 180. It has been at about 90-100 because I am pregnant. We still don't know what cause my heart rate to raise like that. I did ask my ob to test me again. She hasn't yet but I haven't had any problems with my heart in about 8 weeks.
I am going to have my holistic dr keep an eye on my thyroid levels too after the babies are born and see if I need to do anything.

Re: Anyone have low thyroid issues during pregnancy? HELP!

Since you said you are not familiar with thyroid issues, I just want to give you a heads up to avoid some confusion.

A normal TSH, thyroid level, is between 0.3-3.0. The low end of the spectrum means your are hyperthyroid, which is overactive. And the high end of the spectrum means you are hypothyroid, which is underactive.

Do you know what your actual TSH level is??

I had mine done 2 weeks ago and it was 0.04, hyperthyroid. I started taking PTU this past week. A neccessary evil to avoid some major complications.

As far as I know, they've only told me that I was underactive. I suppose I'll find out the numbers on Monday though.

Thanks for the tip about sea kelp.
