Re: DH won't let me get an Amber Teething Necklace

I really don't blame your dh, because I feel the same way. I am also uneducated about them too though. I might feel differently if I knew more about them, but I'd be VERY hesitant to put a necklace on my ds.

Re: DH won't let me get an Amber Teething Necklace

I just bought it & DH didn't say anything until it was on my son. DH didn't care as long as it calmed my son down & helped with his teeth. He also doesn't wear it "unsupervised" I don't let him wear it to bed or for naps & I'm always playing with him when he's awake.

Re: DH won't let me get an Amber Teething Necklace

My DS has worn his for about a year now. It is on him 24/7, even during baths and whatnot. I LOVE the look of my little 'surfer' boy. He actually has 2, but I wear one of them. He forgets he has it on and doesn't chew on it or anything. I just tuck it under his shirt and we're good to go.

Re: DH won't let me get an Amber Teething Necklace

FINE! I'm going to buy one!

I just walked in and told DH I was buying them and he said no. Then I said I could buy one for Leif (My 4 mo old) but not for Rune (My 25 month old) because Rune is just all over the place. Its fine, Rune has most of his teeth but some molars, but the problem is I love the LOOK of them! Oh well, I won half the battle!

Thanks for the encouragement

Re: DH won't let me get an Amber Teething Necklace

I've never heard of them. When I first read your post the only thing that came to mind was nursing necklace...

I'd probably be hesitant too to put a necklace on my baby. The anklet sounds like a good compromise though!

well we love ours and get tons of compliments and they do work. I would think a magnetic clasp would be much less safe then a screw on one. My boys have yanked on theirs and not had them broken.

We've had Milo's on him since he was like 1 month old (just because it was cute) and 24/7 since he was 6 months old (day and night) and never had an issue. They really are quite safe.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

Re: DH won't let me get an Amber Teething Necklace

Where ever you want them to sit is the jist I get.

I ordered one for my oldest son too. If you're a DS mama you get 20% off! that frickin' rocks!!

The only thing is I wanted multi colored ones but DH said no, so BLAAH! Sometimes I wish he DIDN'T care!

Can I see some action shots of your kids wearing them? I'm hoping the same colored ones look as cute as the multi in use.

Re: DH won't let me get an Amber Teething Necklace

I just got ours in the mail for my daughter today. It is SO CUTE!!! I can't even believe it because we are just not jewelry people in the least. I just keep saying "well, if it doesn't work - at least it's just so adorable!". But boy do I hope it works!

Anyway - my point in writing is that according to Kate's website at "Inspired By Finn", the white "Milk & Butter" amber is the one that is supposed to work the best for inflammation and pain reduction so maybe that'll help you feel better about getting the all-one colored one (assuming you got that one!).
