Yeast infection while breastfeeding

I have never had a yeast infection before and I'm not sure if this is one but mainly I'm itchy (no discharge changes). I haven't gotten my period back yet, my LO is almost 10 months old, so I'm wondering if hormonal changes are at the heart of this. Anyone experienced this? Do you think it's a sign I'll be getting my period back or could it just be random?

I got the beginnings of a YI right around the same age with both my LOs. I have no idea why. With my first LO, I blamed it on the fact that DH and I had been, um, "at it" more than normal. With my second LO, DH was deployed, so . Either way, it happened with both kids at the same time but never developed into a full blown YI. I picked up some live acidophilus (sp?) in the refrigerated section of the health food store, and took them religiously for a few weeks. All better.

Yes, taking probotics (namely acidopholis) has been my strategy too. Thanks!
