Just an Idea

If you make cheese from milk, what would breastmilk cheese taste like? Hmm....yogurt? butter? I told hubby we should do that and he made a gagging face but I bet you could do it with the right materials!

I was going to make yogurt from breastmilk, I saw a receipe somewhere. Went and bought the yogurt starter but never got around to trying it...

Re: Just an Idea

I had actually considered doing this (making both cheese and yogurt with breastmilk). My daughter had a dairy allergy until she was almost 2.

hmm...I dunno. Could you make butter with the hindmilk and yogurt with the foremilk? I did consider making breastmilk Kefir for Taci, but I want to get some special boob grains going first

Re: Just an Idea

Hhmmm, my DD is VERY sensitive to milk protein. No milk or cheese for me! DD #2 couldn't even have cheese or yogurt until about 1 1/2 yrs old. She would puke it back up.

If anyone comes up with a good way of doing this, I may keep it in mind for DD #3 in a few months! I have a great freezer stash of BM and only working 1-2 days a week.
