How long can you nurse am/pm only?

My LO does not take a bottle, my other two this is new territory. I am thinking when I eventually begin to wean her I would probably hang on to the morning and before bed feedings as long as I could. How long do you think you can keep nursing only once or twice a day? Months, years? At this point - 11 mo - I don't really plan to wean yet, just trying to think ahead.

Re: How long can you nurse am/pm only?

DD has been nursing once a day for a month now. She's hanging onto her first thing in the morning feeding. I'm hoping she drops it soon but I don't know...

I exclusively pumped for DS and when he was 10 months old I dropped to just pumping twice a day. 7:00 in the morning and 7:00 at night. I was able to get 40 oz a day doing this. I was getting about 60 oz with pumping 3 times a day. But my supply started to drop off and by a year I was only getting about 10 oz a day with just 1 pumping session.

So, it is completely possible to maintain supply with just a couple nursing sessions a day!

I nursed DS morning and evening for about 5 months. I think it would continue as long as you continue the nursing at that time.
