We buy DD a book that has a Christmas theme every year and an ornament.
Her first Christmas I did the bath toys, in her stocking I put spoons, sippy cups, some of those mesh feeders.
I agree that the passes are a good idea as well, maybe like a family zoo pass or something like that. DD was almost seven months on Christmas (a week shy) and she had no interest in unwrapping gifts, she just wanted to play with the wrapping after the fact.

My dd loved that too!

I would also suggest books, books, and books.

Maybe a waldorf doll?

Also CDs are great, and playsilks to go with them for dancing.

HTH!

Re: What to get for the baby who has everything?

If your child already has everthing...then I would not "buy" anything. At that age any gifts you give are for you anyways...a seven month old is too young to know or care about presents. Don't waste you money. Put it in the bank for a rainy day... Give your child a nice bath and perhaps a massage and some special time. If you would like to have your LO try opening a gift...wrap up one of their stuffed animals... Keep it simple and meaningful.

Re: What to get for the baby who has everything?

We're getting Jem baby (who'll be 9 months at Christmas) a minky blanket, some HABA toys, a shirt with a picture of our dog on it and a knitted toy dog that looks like our dog (the baby really freaking loves the dog, see my avatar!). And then we're donating $50 in his name to a UNICEF program. I think a nice blanket or an engraved music box would be nice. My BF bought my son a BEAUTIFUL engraved music box when he was born and he LOVES it, plus it's something he can have for the rest of his life.

What about having them go to the store ( or even their own toybox) and pick out a small gift that can then be donated.....they then learn about sharing and feel good about themselves. At that age, I think a present or two are required....but again something simple that can turn into valuable time together....say cookie cutters, then make cookies together...and sit and eat them listening to christmas music. Just try to think of something that is NOT blantant buying just "because" it wastes your money, does nothing to benefit your children and wastes the planet's resources. off my soapbox....but here is a link EVERYONE should watch
