Birthday party games for 7 year olds?

My dd is having her first "real" b-day party in a few weeks. All the ones before were just the family, but this year we are planning on inviting her class. I expect several will show, though not the whole class. A mix of boys and girls. I need game ideas!

What about a treasure hunt? You could split the group into teams and give them each a treasure map with clues.
You could do relay games, with potato sack jumping, crawling, running backwards...

Re: Birthday party games for 7 year olds?

these are the games I just did at DD's party on the 30th- water balloon toss, egg on spoon relay, i filled empty and cleaned out egg shells with confetti and they went around cracking it on eachother's heads... I also put paper pieces in balloons with a happy face or a sad face, then I gave a balloon to each adult and the kids had to pick an adult to pop the balloon, and they won a small prize. OH! I also did hot potato. Freeze dance is always fun too

eta: with the egg game, birthday child does it duck duck goose style, when the music stops the child they're standing in front of gets cracked. But eventually all of the kids ends up wanting ot crack the eggs and it gets crazy chaotic and fun..... I put coins in quite a few of them but not more than $1.5-$2.

you could also do musical chairs. OLDIES BUT GOODIES keep the kids having a BLAST! No need to think of new creative over the top ideas

Oooh, yea...a treasure hunt will be a good one. I also read about one called babysitting. It's a relay type race where the kids have to sit on balloons and bust them-they have babyfaces drawn on them, lol. That should be fun. The confetti eggs sound like so much fun, but we will be in the FOP lodge here and clean up would be a nightmare. Hot potato sounds good too! I don't know why I blanked. I guess I thought 7 year olds were different now a days, lol.

Do you have a theme? I love coming up with theme based games.

Unfortunately, she wants Hanna Montanna. I'm not a huge fan exactly, but she's bombarded with her everywhere, and has been sucked with with the rest of the teenybopper girls her age. So I've allowed it, but on a limited basis. That is what her cake will be decorated with and a few decorations. I did think about maybe doing pin the guitar on Hanna...LOL! Just get a poster and draw some guitars and have the kids pin them on.

Get a karaoke machine and let them sing.
Play pass the microphone.
I found this recipe for make your own body glitter:
Body Glitter
Girls can mix their own body glitter during the party to take home using
this simple recipe.
You'll Need:
cup aloe vera gel
fine polyester glitter (any color, available at most craft stores)
One small cosmetic travel container with a screw top, for each girl.

To Make:
Fill the containers 1/4 full with aloe gel.
Pour a small amount of glitter in the container. Provide wood
craft sticks or plastic coffee stir straws to the girls for mixing.
Add more gel until the mix is complete. Close the lid.
Decorate mailing labels with gel pens and attach it to the container.
