i'm starting to freak out

i am terrified of DD self weaning - i know it's not common but here's the situation - i'm going out of town in a month and i'll be gone for 5 days - DD will be 8 months old - the only time she gets a bottle is when she's with the nanny (2 times a day, M-F) or with my mom (random times when we go out) - other than that, she gets the breast - she does get one solid food meal 4-5 times a week - but that's it - she is a total boobie monster and prefers the breast to bottle - i'm just afraid that after 5 days of bottle only, she won't want to make the transition back to me - i'm pumping like crazy, so she'll have plenty of breastmilk - should i put solids on hold while i'm gone - am i freaking out over nothing??

I would take a deep breadth and relax.... I bet when you come back, she will BF like crazy because she missed you so much!!


I don't think it's necessary to put solids on hold while you are away. I would think that's better if you don't want her to 'get used' to the bottle. If anything, I would cut down when you return, so you and her can have a BF party and get back on track!

I dont think you need to worry. If she's spent 8 mos being a booby addict, 5 days wont cure her of it

I am pretty sure she will miss the breast and want to snuggle and nurse as much as possible when you come back!
