Breastfeeding anxiety??
I'm really not looking forward to breastfeeding this time around. I'm going to, but part of me says, "ugh, not another 2 years." Is this normal? I've been breastfeeding for almost 4 years and with this little one only a month away, I'm starting to see that it's starting all over again.
Anyway, I love breastfeeding, but I'm just not loving the thought of it right now. |

Re: Breastfeeding anxiety??
That's completely normal. I DREAD each nursing but once she's eating I love it. I think it's a combination of knowing the baby is in control, and knowing that your body isnt exactly yours anymore lol.
I think it's FANTASTIC that you've been nursing so long. I admire you VERY much! I hope to nurse my little one for a couple years too! |

Re: Breastfeeding anxiety??
BTDT! I was right where you are this time last year and now I have been nursing ehr a year and still loving it. Just wait until you hold that precious little one in yorurarms and they root around looking for warm milk and you cuddle that little one to your breast, all the love of nursing a new little one will come flooding back.

Re: Breastfeeding anxiety??
i felt like this too! especially after nursing a toddler through pg, the soreness, the drying up... but when that baby comes out and you know its the best thing for them..and like pp said the rooting and the tiny-ness.. i have been nursing for almost 3 years now, and will nurse ds until he is ready.. but i don't even think about it anymore and love nursing ds now.

Re: Breastfeeding anxiety??
yeah, like pp said, that flood of hormones comes when the tiny baby is in your arms.
i was concerned about nursing ds after dd nursed for 2.5 years. when he finally arrived i was thrilled to be nursing again. then when he was about 4 months old, it hit me that i was tied to the baby, and maybe for another couple years or more, and it really got me down. i took it one day at a time, and somehow got through it. now, 2.5 years later, he is still nursing 1-2 times a day and i'm still taking it one day at a time babies are never easy, but you'll find a new path with your newly expanded family |

Re: Breastfeeding anxiety??
its normal! We are reaching 1 year in 2 days.....and I think another 1/2 year or more?
You'll be fine though, once you get started again! Time will fly!
