That was one of the hardest parts for us. We were told it could take up to 6 months but it ended up taking 7. Well DFD is officially legally free! Now the waiting begins. This cousin hasn't passed her background check yet (really the most important part)so now we get to just hurry up and wait some more. Thank you guys for all your prayers! Keep 'em coming. I will update you when I find something out.

In the case of the MI comment.... how long has she been with you?
Can you call an attorney for a free consultation?
Can you call DSS for general info and ask for a supervisor?
I am really sorry, as I am sure she feels like your own, if you have had her since birth.
I think that prayer is simply the best answer here. I was always told that if you fully give your troubles to God to sort out, you will feel relieved and he will do what is best.

An attorney wouldn't do any good because we are foster parents. We are expected to hand the kids over to whomever the state decides can have them. We can show up to court and tell them we want her, but ultimately are bound by whatever the state decides.

She is only 9 months old and we have had her for 7 of those 9 months!

We are about to get transferred to an adoption caseworker so I am sure we will get more information then.
