Recipes for Tilapia??

We bought a package of frozen tilapia fillets, and I am looking to do something different with them for our dinner. Normally I coat them with a mixture of butter, lemon, and parsley. Any suggestions? I'd like to keep it relatively simple, and preferably baked. Although, if someone can tell me how to fry it up I would be thankful!!

TIA.

I dredge mine in freshly grated parmesean cheese w/some pepper and garlic salt and bake it according to directions and it's sooooooooo good. Serve with veggies and olive oil and fresh garlic coated pasta. Yum!

I love Tilapia, and I don't like fish! hehe!!

I coat mine in egg dip it in flour, twice, back in the egg and in the flour again. Then sprinkle garlic salt and pepper on it... And fry it in a skillet in Olive Oil...

Only a couple mins on each side and it's done..!

Re: Recipes for Tilapia??

My whole family likes them dipped in 'Drakes' (made according to the box directions) and fried in peanut oil in my fry daddy I like to fry onion rings right along with them, too.
Our healthier version is to poach them - bring a skillet of water to a boil and put in some dill and slide the fish in - cooks quickly and great with lemon and a bit more dill - my whole family eats it that way, too.

We do things similar to the ideas posted above but I also wanted to toss out another idea- use crushed tortilla chips and some taco seasoning (or other mexican seasonings). Costco sells some frozen pre seasoned with the crushed chips and everything the spicy isn't something I'd normally try with fish, but it's REALLY good ! Worth a shot to try it out, it's on my list of things to try

Ohh the tortilla chips sound good.

I mix itialian bread crumbs, parmasean cheese, and garlic salt; dip the fillet in egg or milk and then bread with that mixture.

I also have mixed Sazon seasoning with Adobo seasoning and just sprinnkled and baked. Both are quick and yummy

Re: Recipes for Tilapia??

I'm not much of a cook, I read this forum for help, not to contribute!

But I love these fillets too and this is what I do w/them: I actually microwave mine according to the directions (the horror!). But first I pour in some lemon pepper marinade. If I'm not feeling lazy I will finish it in a frying pan to get some crispiness to it. And then I heat up some mixed veggies from the freezer and throw them on top. Healthy and delicious meal that only takes minutes.

May not be what you are looking for but maybe it will be for someone else?

This is the same recipe we use and LOVE it! It's not so healthy, but it's so yummy!

We love our tilapia grilled with cajun seasoning (and a little red pepper, if you desire a kick!)
