Re: What's the earliest time a DC starts to PT?

17/18 months is actually a good time to start PT. over a decade ago; the average PT age was 18 months....today, the average PT age is 3 years...sometiems, it makes me go hmmm.....maybe cloth cd'ing really *did* make a difference!

Re: What's the earliest time a DC starts to PT?

I think if your child is interested in sitting on the potty - go for it. Potty training can be a long-drawn out process, I've come to realize. My daughter's been sitting on her potty since before her 1st birthday, peeing in it occassionally, but just getting used to the idea mostly. She's been peeing on the potty consistently since well before her 2nd birthday. We have regular potty times during the day plus she tells me most of the time when she has to pee. She runs over saying "Ooooh mommy, tinkle's coming!" But she will not poop on the potty. Several times a week she says she wants to sit on the potty to try to poop but then doesn't. I think she's only pooped on the potty once or twice.

Re: What's the earliest time a DC starts to PT?

Thanks for the further replies, mamas!

I just came back hunting a potty and am pretty frustrated at the moment. a) hardly any choice in 3 diff. stores and b) after I got the 1st years 3 in one one and tried at home, I realized it's just not working w/the open hole area for DS to pee in (right now he'd pee right across the carpet if he were to use it ) and it's kinda too high for him..

What happened with the good old 'normal' potties? No '3 in 1' systems, just a cheapo tiny potty where they can sit on!?
