tell me what you think...
Well, we're far from ready to start solids here, but we are doing a little bit of fall harvesting/preserving so I'm in the market for a gadget to make baby food.
I'm only going to buy one appliance. So, if you could only use one what would you recommend and why? Blender, processor, mill, grinder??? Too many options mamas!! What's the best?

Re: tell me what you think...
we did baby led feeding and started my ds on table food when he started at 6 months. soft cooked or really ripe fruits and veggies in big pieces (fry shaped) at first, and by 8 or so months he was just eating whatever we did. he just turned one, and we do have to do smaller pieces now, because hes in the stuff your face stage, but when theyre littler bigger is better so there is something for them to hold on to.

Re: tell me what you think...
I said a blender. When I make baby food I just use my magic bullet (which is a mini blender pretty much it's just easier to clean up since I can put the cups in the diswasher) If you're only going to buy one I'd just get a blender. I think it has a lot more uses than the other options since you can use it for yourself as well.

Re: tell me what you think...
We did baby-led feeding too, no purees, but if I was going to buy one of those it would definitely be a food processor. If it's a good one it can pretty much do everything the others on the list can anyway! Ours blends, dices, purees, can even knead bread.
If you want more info on the baby-led method, PM me.

Re: tell me what you think...
We have the Magic Bullet for baby food. It is GREAT! With the harvest season here we made a few babyfoods as well even though DD isn't ready yet.
The MB is great. It is quick, it does a great job, it cleans up really easily. Can't say enough good things about it! You can even cook right in the containers and then just blend it up.
