Any way to hide green veggies in homemade food?
My son liked all the green veggies at first, butnow, when he sees the color, he turns his head and won't even try it.
Do you know of any way/recipe to hide the green stuff that way he still gets them? He does eat some table food. Thank You!

Re: Any way to hide green veggies in homemade food?
I convinced my very picky DD to eat zucchini last night by pureeing it, then sticking it in tomato sauce (on pasta). It seems to have worked. I think with something that is already strongly coloured (like tomato sauce), you have a better chance of your LO not finding it.
Good luck! |

Thank You!
I did have some spinach and cheese filled tortelliini - which he ate like a champ. I just have to hide the peas, green beans, and spinach....

Sometimes I will mix peas and carrots together - for variety (pureed)... so, it's not technically green... but I wouldn't say it exactly appealing!

We have a green issue too. We puree it to hide it and that's the only way it works.
The other thing I can do is hide things like spinach in lasagna. Also, for some reason they will sometimes eat raw over cooked. |

You guys need to check out the cookbook called Deceptively Delicious. It's by Jerry Seinfeld's wife, and its about how she hides all sorts of vegetable purees in her kids food. There are tons of recipes in it, and I can tell you from first hand experience that they are delicious!! (easy too!)

Yea, the deceptively delicious cookbook is pretty cool! Gave me some good ideas, now i started to put pureed carrots in my mashed potatoes, makes them a cook orange color
and you can even puree some broccoli/spinach/kale and put a little in pasta sauce, meatloaf, etc. Some of the ideas in the book are a good way to get more veggies in your OWN diet. You could even make a puree and mix it into fajitas or burritos. I also like to grate up zucchini (not necessarily puree it) and mix it into just about ANYTHING.
