I had a female maternal-fetal specialist (also called a perinatalogist in some practices). I liked her. If I ever conceive again (which unlikely) it will be midwife all the way, though! I started out with midwives but I changed b/c of the twins.

When I delivered, there were 10+ staffers in the room--my doctor, residents, nurses for me, nurses for the babies, etc. The only male other than my Dh in the room was the anethesiologist and that was only b/c there was a shift change right before I delivered.
