Re: GAD question... this seems odd...?

Ok, this is tenative, but we may have a solution.

I just talked to my seamstress and she id going to send me some samples of different ways to finish the opening. One I think will be to roll the fleece onto itself and stitch it down (hem it)

This will solve another one of my cons (that I forgot to mention) I think.

The serging was making the opening wavy on the microfleece inners and that really bugged me! But I think with the hem this will not happen and there will be not serging to unravel and the opening will look more finished. Sounds like a solution to me!

The diapers I make will not be like this because it will take a lot more time to finish the opening in this way. But I can make it (the serging) an option for the custom diapers.

This is tenative, I need to see what it would look like.

Thanks!

Shannon

Sounds great to me! If your still reading this answering questions, I was just wondering... there is a diaper on your site that you have instock and I would really like to buy it, but I would want the opening stitched... would that be possible?
thanks!

Re: GAD question... this seems odd...?

Shannon -

I love your diapers just the way they are! You know I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE GAD fan. At first I was shocked because all of my other 60,000 GADs had the serged opening. I was going to email you but heard that you had made the switch. Then the other 3,000 new ones that I ordered were w/o the serging too, so I decided to give it awhile and see what I liked best.
Honestly, after using both over and over, stuffing and wearing, I like the unserged opening better. I think it gives more when I stuff and lays back down better than the wavy serged opening.
SO I guess what I'm saying is that my vote would be for adding a button to have that a custom feature IF some people want it!
Either way though, I'm a GAD user and a GAD lover and I'll use them however they come! BEST DIAPERS EVER!

- Oh man, the stocking is tomorrow...maybe I should figure out what I want!

Oh no! Now you said that everyone's going to go for it and I'm going to fail at another GAD stocking!

I have to say that I am coming close - not there yet - to agreeing with STeph. I have almost gotten used to the new unserged opening and I might agree that it might possibly lay down better . BUT I still much prefer the look of the serged one and as I told you (Shannon) earlier the waviness is something I actually LIKE about GADs. I'm weird that way I guess!

Maybe (and perhaps I'll get slammed for saying this?) you could charge a little extra for the serged custom option??? As I do understand there is such a small margin here, etc.

Re: GAD question... this seems odd...?

I just thought I'd add that when I bought a custom off the restocking yesterday, that a serged edge is now a custom option. FWIW, my GADs are unserged and I like them just fine the way they are! Awesome dipes!

Re: GAD question... this seems odd...?

Thanks! You ladies are so nice.

My seamstress is sending me a sample today, so we will see what she comes up with! I do like the idea of them looking more finished. But it was nice to leave that step off when I make them here, kwim?
