Ideas For A 10 Month Old
Ds is 10.5 months old. He's breastfeed but does get solids 2-3x/day. He was doing just fine with his solids and was doing well w/ the #3 foods.
So, several weeks ago we got him Gerber puffs (like flavored cheerios). Ever since we introduced those, that's all he'll eat as far as solids go. He now refuses pretty much all jar baby food. He pushes them away. But put a puff in front of him any time and he'll eat it right away. So, I'm thinking maybe he is just prefering feeding himself? What are some other foods he can self feed? I need some healthy meal ideas. I'm at a loss!

Re: Ideas For A 10 Month Old
some of my dd's faves:
slightly smooshed peas balls of grated cheese finely ground meats, balled up banana bits tofu bits bits of steamed yam or squash tiny broccoli florets just about anything can be a finger food. I often coat slippery foods in wheat germ or ground oatmeal to make it easier for her to pick up. www.wholesomebabyfood.com has a lot of finger food ideas too.

Re: Ideas For A 10 Month Old
My DS is 11 months and his faves are:
Organic rice puffs mixed with hummus steamed or baked sweet potatoes chopped up No salt added canned green beans - they are soooooo soft, mushy and easy Quinoa - this grain is a whole protein and can be added to anything Whole wheat or rice noodles Good luck!!!!!

Re: Ideas For A 10 Month Old
Those puffs are pretty sweet, almost like candy. So of course he wants to eat those!
I just stopped offering them to Dec and only gave him cheerios instead. He also liked Life cereal, but those are artifically colored! Kashi makes a puffed grain cereal that D goes NUTS for. Are you feeding him jarred food? Like Jarred meats? That stuff tastes nasty, imo. You can feed him table foods, very well cooked, with no seasonings. Apples/pears/bananas/soft fruits can be served without being cooked. Dec LOVES apples and pears for teething. He just crunches them up with his teeth, though of course if your LO does not have teeth or a lot of teeth I'd offer soft cooked foods. Have you tried to give LO pasta? Declan found the macaroni love at around 9mo and he just can't get enough.
