Is this okay? still eating pureed foods at 1 yr

Is it okay to still be on pureed foods at 1 year old? DD was late taking a bottle and gags real bad when I try to give her chunky foods....not to mention she gets food allergies from anything containing meats.
She is on isomil and I'm keeping her on it over a year old since she can't drink milk products. I wanted to bf her but it's too late now

I say do what works for the baby! I don't see anything wrong with it. My ds is 7 months and still doesn't eat pureed food! He is EBF. Now if I could get him to take a bottle every once in awhile would be nice! LOL

All I can say is my 3 yr old still loves baby food, especially the Gerber 2nds foods in the plastic containers with the fruit and veggies.
Its just as healthy as regular food, probably better since it doesnt have a bunch of additives or other things in it. As long as he is eating healthy, I dont care if he eats baby food at all.

I also got a food processor so I've been making her food (carrots, bananas, etc) in that sometimes. It helps with how lumpy/runny I can make her food for when she does transition.
I do feel so much better that other kids are still eating pureed foods and I'm not alone.
I did make her broccoli in it and she hated it so much she projectiled! Some kids aren't fond of broccoli, i guess...

Nothing wrong with it DD at almost 18 months still eats applesauce and some other pureed stuff, just because she likes it, not necessarily because she won't eat anything else (and she'll eat anything, even crayons )

My DD does and she just turned 1 .... but she was EBF until recently. Though she does like more solid foods too!

Sounds fine to me! My DS ate mostly pureed food until about 14 months. Though, I wouldn't use Gerber... they use a lot of fillers in they're 2nd and 3rd stage foods so basically it makes the baby fill up on flour and such. I recommend blending up your own stuff and freezing it.

My daughter is almost 2 and she still eats some of the pureed foods. She was kind of late in getting her teeth- she only has 8 teeth right now- so more solid foods were harder for her to get down. She only has one bottom molar, so she has to use that for all her grinding. She used to have quite a gag reflex, but she is getting better now and trying lots more solid foods.

Of course it's ok! Does your dc even have molars to shread chunkier food? Mine doesn't, but that's all she wants anyway. It's certainly less of a potential choking hazard. Mine gobbles down big chunks all the time so I really have to watch her. Or cut stuff up smaller!
