Hey, why can't you have another child?

I would just DIE. I am 34 years old and can't imagine being a grandma right now or in a few years. It's probably because I haven't been through the stages with my lil' ones yet. I have a 16 month old and a 5 year old. If my children were older, I would probably feel differently

Re: Anyone ready to be a grandma?

No, no, no, no!!!!!! LOL My DD is almost 6 and so I am no were near ready for that. I could very well be a great aunt or cousin soon and that is bad enough!
Now step grandma if I find someone with an older child ok.

BTW I don't think it is bad to have grandkids intermingled(is that a word?) with children ages. I think it is kinda cool. My aunt and I almost had kids the same age..we both miscarried and she wasn't exactly really young. Her youngest was 10 years old. I think she was 38 so well with in baby having age still but not my age .

Re: Anyone ready to be a grandma?

Well I don't know I guess I just always had this vision that when I became a gma, I'd take them for a weekned to spoil the heck out of them and give em back and I do all the fun gma stuff with them. I guess I'd want to focus on them you know? But if I have own in diapers, how can I do that? I would like my own to at least be 5 years old than my grandchildren.. but hey.. I guess we will see what happens! My mom told me today that her mom and oldest sister was pg at the same time. My dh's grandma and mama were both pg at the same time. I guess this happens a lot apparently.

Re: Anyone ready to be a grandma?

Not really, but I'm only 26 and my oldest is 7. Some day though.

My youngest uncle and oldest cousin are only a couple years apart. My grandma had her kids spaced across 20years (there are 6 living siblings and many lost babies in that time line). So it wasn't really that shocking. I don't think I will probably be in that kind of situation as if we don't have another baby by the time I hit 30 I'm closing up shop. It's just a personal thing for me, my pregnancies are too hard, I don't want to add age to the factors against me. But I would definately consider adopting later, so maybe an adopted child close to the same age as my grandkids. Kind of Father of the Bride 2, I always thought the idea was really cute.

Re: Anyone ready to be a grandma?

I was SOOO ready to be a granny! When my DS and DIL married after 3 years of cohabitation,I told them "Okay, one year,I'll give you one year to make me a Granny." They took 18 months! But she is totally worth all the wait! My Sweet Darling Lily!

My girls are 7 and 3 and I'm 41. I'll be an older grandmother, if they do what they are supposed to. LOL
