I am exhausted. DD, 5 month, has been waking about every hour to hour 1/2 in the night. She sometimes wakes up after a 1/2 hour after I have FINALLY gotten her back to sleep. She used to nurse to sleep, but then she stopped that. She used to wake a bit and I would put the pacifier in and she would go back to sleep, but now she fusses horribly when she begins to go into light sleep and the pacy doesn't really do much now. The only way that I can get her back to sleep it to nurse her, she only eats or a couple of minutes and then just comfort sucks but I am nursing her about 6 times in the night now! I don't know what to do, maybe it is teething, that it the only thing that I can think of. If any of you have any advice I would really appreciate it! Thanks, Danni

I would say, yes, it is probably teething...but I can offer you hope that it will pass...eventually she will go longer at night...and then sometimes fall back into this pattern but then grow out of it again. My dd has done this since she was 5mos and she is now 19mos.

You will get sleep again, i promise!

i say it might be teething also, get some hylands teething tablets for her

If she has had any type of cold I would suspect an ear infection. My older dd would wake like that when she had an ear infection, the ONLY symptom she ever had was the not sleeping well...she never spiked a fever, never tugged at her ears, none of the usual signs.

DD is doing the same thing at 5 and 1/2 months. It's def. teething. The hylands tablets seem to help a lot. 2 tablets nurse...back to sleep for an hour or two...sometimes I can just slip in the tablets..no nurse and back to sleep.

I know how exhausted you feel.

It definatly could be teething but I'd also recommend a swaddling blanket. My DS wouldn't sleep for more than 45mins in his bassinet until we got a Miracle Blanket and it was truly a MIRACLE! Tylenol & teething tablets also help with teething but you can never be sure till they are right there about to come in.
