Ideas to decorate my classroom door??

My school is having a door decorating contest next week. So I need my door to be awesome. I need ideas! I teach pre-k and want some things on the door they do and then my para and I will put the rest up. I want to win!!

We are a rural school so Santa and Christmas ideas are good for us!

Thank you, thank you!

Make it a Christmas tree, and take pics of the kids, and have them use their pics to make ornaments for the tree.

I love the pp idea! ALos- I don't know if this would work but if you hung a large pice of butcher paper on the door (so the candy glue etc wouldn't get it yucky- I guess this is a bit obvioous) so it was covered and then used candy (or maybe paper shapes cut out to look like candy) and fun things to decorate a fake gingerbread house (it would obviosuly just be one dimensional) on your door- I just think it would be fun looking and that the kids would love it!

Another idea is to make a "santa's village", which face pics of the kids as elves.. Using the pp idea, you can use candycanes and stuff to make the north "pole"

i love this reindeer idea from vacuum queen's blog. i'm doing it with all 3 of my kids out of felt and making them door hangers for their rooms....but you could have all your kids do them out of construction paper and have them pulling santa's sleigh...

Re: Ideas to decorate my classroom door??

My dd's Grade 1 class has a gingerbread themed bulletin board. The teacher/para/intern made the outline of a gingerbread house with coloured paper & a white background for snow. Then they decorated the gingerbread house by attaching candies all over it.

The kids each coloured a circle to look like candies, then their school pics were place on the circles. The circles were then covered with clear celophane & tied on the ends to look like wrapped candies. These were placed all over the bulletin board.

Another teacher has done a fireplace themed bulletin board, she even has logs that sit on the floor(obviously wouldn't work for a door, but you could attach them). I'm guessing stockings may go on it.

I did a big cut out Santa with a sack and a "naughty and nice" list... I put pictures of all my students under nice and pictures of the teachers under naughty. The kids (and the principal) loved it.

Re: Ideas to decorate my classroom door??

One year in college (my floor always decorated around a theme), we drew a fireplace/chimney on paper on our door then added our names on stockings. The kids could each decorate their stocking and hang it on the fireplace.
