vegan cheese recipe?

Does anyone have a good vegan cheese recipe for a brick like cheese? Preferably mozzarella or cheddar?

Can you get a copy of The Uncheese Cookbook? Some good ones in there.

I did the mosterella recipe from the UnCheese cookbook; I don't have the book, just found the recipe online. I thought it tasted pretty good, but definitely didn't turn out like a block cheese...more like a nacho dipping cheese in a very, very soft block. I was thinking about getting the cookbook, but heard some iffy things. Do you recommend it? Are there really any recipes that are more blockish?

Oh please LMK if that book is really worth it. We are vegan too and I really miss cheesy pizza...... or jalepeno popers YUM!!

I haven't found any that remotely work for us. not even the purchasable kinds. We've decided it's better to not do than do poorly.

I agree. I have used some vegan rice slices (American cheese flavor) that were pretty good. Well I hated it, but DH and the kids ate it up like crazy.

If you are away from cheese a while, nutritional yeast is great but I don't think it can be turned into block cheese. So yeah, we are in the avoiding it club as well.
