humm.. what do you think?

Hey ladies,

So I forgot to get any sort of gravy at the store yesterday for Christmas.. so I was wondering if this would work..
I'm making Au jus for the prime rib we are having.. can I put some of that aside and then maybe water it down some and then add it to a roux to make gravy?

I would think that would work. You can just make a simple pan gravy by adding stock to roux. That's what I did at Thanksgiving (we fried a turkey so no drippings) and it turned out great--much better than gravy from the store!
