does anyone have the stokke tripp trapp?

we are getting the tripp trapp for our 10.5 month old son, and i'm wondering if anyone here has one?

i don't think that we need the baby rail, but....do we?

the chair says from six months+, but i can't find anything that says you MUST use the baby rail for kids under 18 months.

Re: does anyone have the stokke tripp trapp?

We have one and have the seat pad and rail. I think the rail would be useful for a 10 month old. We bought it for our 2.5 year old and don't use the rail, of course, but she was in her high chair still up until a few months ago. She's squirmy, though (and a messy eater). If your child is a neat eater and sits still, perhaps you wouldn't need the rail, especially if you would be pushing it right up to the table and sitting right there beside them. You will especially love this chair when your child gets to the toddler phase where they are too old for a highchair, but not big enough for a regular chair!

I think the rail is a good idea for a 10 month old. We have this seat for my almost 3 year old dd--without the rail, of course. It does have straps (3 point waist belt), but I don't see it as secure enough for a little one. Although the price is high, you can't beat the value IMO. I can see my dd using this chair for years to come. And, it's sturdy enough for her 215 lb father!

Re: does anyone have the stokke tripp trapp?

thanks everyone for your responses! we ended up going with the black tripp trapp from albee baby, and we got the baby rail.

i wish we had more money and we would have purchased the kinderseat that's on sale for $160. that way our older little ones could be in the kinderseat while the younger ones are in the tripp trapp (has the five point harness). maybe all the kinderseats will be clearanced out sometime this year?

I just bought my tripp trapp on ebay, and I noticed some kinderzeats selling for about $100-120.

I have the seat but when we bought it, it didn't come with the rail and we didn't need it. I think he was around 10 months.
