Looking For Authentic Taco Recipes

I love tacos, but I hate the little envelopes of seasoning. I'd love for someone to share an authentic seasoning recipe with me

Have you ever heard of Adobo? It is a seasoning made by Goya brand. You can find it in the ethnic foods isle of almost any grocery store. This is what we use to season our taco meat. I don't like the packets either.

We season to taste with garlic powder, ground cumin, dried oregano (I've been told Mexican oregano is best), chili powder and fresh ground black pepper and fresh ground salt.

Re: Looking For Authentic Taco Recipes

I'm a bit late to the game with my answer but I use a Weight Watchers recipe and I think they're great.

1 lb ground beef (or your choice meat mix)
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp paprika
1-2 cloves garlic
Jalapenos as you like.

After you have your meat seasoned then drain and add 1 can diced tomatoes to the mixture and let simmer. We love these tacos and have never looked back at the seasoning packets.
