Thanks, she is not mentally stable. She went crazy on him in a very public place 2 weeks ago after he tried talking to her about their relationship. It's really rough on him b/c she is the first girl he's every really cared about or been with. He lost his mom when he was young and now he feels like he's lost her and his son

So I am going to my mom's today. I should get a lot of knitting done b/c the boys will be playing. Hope everyone has a great wooly day!

Question for you: I will need to embellish the tush on the longies I'm getting from the yarn for woollies swap: http://www.danceswithchairs.blogspot.com/
I think the longies color is a perfect base for fish! If I were to knit and then felt a fish, about how much do they felt? Is 25% of size a good guess? Does it depend on the type of wool? And will I need wool thread to sew on the embellishment?
Cute fish!! I have no idea on the embellishment other than you can sew them on with just the same yarn you used for the embellishment which holds the best. You can also use thread but it tends to cut the yarn if stretched and dealt with too much. I have never felted anything myself so I hope someones can give you some insight into that.

that sounds like a tough situation. I hope they're able to figure things out for the baby's sake. And please post NB hat pics!

As for the duplicate stitch suggestion, I don't think I'm quite ready for that.

That's too bad. I used to be fairly unstable. A lot of it was due to a prior emotionally abusive relationship and a big factor (IMO) was birth control pills/hormones. Once I got off those I mellowed out completely. And of course having a wonderful guy who stuck by me (and is now my DH) was a huge help!

Morning all!! I can't type too much as I'm excited to go knit on RFR.

Dev, I think your fish is darling...and I'm curious too! If you choose to felt, expect about 30% shrinkage. To sew on, either use the yarn, or get an embroidery floss. Not thread...it's a bugger. I too think you may want to consider duplicate stitch. It's really not hard, just time consuming. No more time consuming than stitching a felted piece on though.

Melissa...what a sad situation. Any chance he could have custody of the baby if she's unstable? If he ever wants custody or visitation...he should be 100% sure of paternity and get on the birth certificate. Yay for NB knits though!

Lisa! Cute skirty! Love "boyish" colors all girlied up. And the flamingo is darling!!

Teresa...can't wait to see your clapotis!

Off for my coffee!!

:wave2: I have finally cast on for the hat I have been meaning to make for my friend's little boy. (Dev, it's for Steph's Nate) I'm using Purewool's warm ice in single ply and it's the softest, squishiest yarn i've ever knit--perfect for a little newbie. I'm hoping to get it done in one day, if the twins cooperate.

Morning girls!

I have some WiP pics of the harvest longies! I'm loving them, really, LOL! And I used the Juliette-like ruffle cuff again. I LOVE how it's girly, but not over the top.
