Re: a basic weekend... chat and share a recipe????

dd2 is SO tired...she was NAK and not swaddled in her blanket and her little arms were flailing and keeping her awake. I tried holding the "top" arm but she managed to scratch herself in the face and then started screaming and looking at me with her tired, teary eyes as if to say "HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN!?!?!?!?!"
So we went upstairs, changed the diaper (was wet) and wrapped her in her blanket....she is NAK and much more comfortable and nearing sleep.

Do any of you swaddle your LO's? DS and DD1 HATED the idea of ANYTHING tight on them from birth...DD2 *loves* it and has since her first minute of life DH jokes that DD2 was over 2 weeks late being born just because she liked it so squishy in there. She is 6 months old, but I still swaddle for naps/night (cosleep)

I swaddled both of my little ones for as long as they would stay swaddled without wiggling out. They looooooooved it.

Neither of our kids ever liked being swaddled. They both wiggled until they were out and then fell sleep. If they couldn't get out, they'd just scream until we undid it.

Re: a basic weekend... chat and share a recipe????

I just read through the whole weekend - and am too lazy to type up a recipe - because first of all I'd have to think of one, and dig it out of a box where its packed

1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour(that's plain flour, not self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Small splash of vanilla
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well .
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

This is perfect for 2 to share! Or if you just need a quick chocolate fix!

this is me too - I've finally started trying to write them down after we eat them if we liked them enough - its typically like an ingridient list though

by the last one she was NOT impressed lol. This one I included to show just how much she still can grow before we have to add the headrest! Plus we'll remove the insert when the time comes. (not sure yet how old that is) We took the head cradle-newborn thing off.

It seems nice and cushy; dh wants to know if they make one in his size
I so wanted one of these - pretty sure its not going to fit in the backseat though with two other carseats

So I let his son come over and play PS2 with DH and romp with the dog for a few hours on Saturdays. He's also a... gentle boy, in a village full of tough guys. We don't really even need to entertain him; he just likes to hang out.

I just wish his dad would say something to the church about not wanting to travel so much. He finds it hard to refuse because he's "doing God's work," and I think what he's missing is that raising his son and daughter is also "God's work."
poor kid! my parents moved us a round a lot and I hated it

we did stand alone birth center and i really like it - I think i actually could relax more there than at home - i'd be worried about the mess too

so were we! We got to the application process after picking the organization and country - then got a positive pregancy test - guess it will have to be number 4

both of ours fought sleep awfully without being swaddled - but at some point they also stop falling to sleep being swaddled - it took a lot of convincing though to change dh's mind about it

okay my last post is long enough so I'll just add here

anybody seen any cheap used premium pfs?
I'm so sad - my youngest really doesnt pee on the potty - I've been trying for a few days - he now sits there happily eating or drinking juice, reading a book, pointing out characters on his seat but will not go Its frustrating because he knows what goes on there and goes right after he gets off I'm going to have two in diapers again --- and my grandma is going to get after me

DS NEEDED to be swaddled until about 3 months, at which point he started screaming bloody murder until we unswaddled him.

I would love to be able to swaddle Bennett, but he seems to hate it. He likes to have his arms free. He seems to startle and unsettle himself a lot though. I can't wait til he can roll over, and sleeps on his tummy.
