for mom's of babes with dairy intolerance
I'm interested in what other mamas have experienced in terms of partial dairy intolerance. A lactation consultant suggested that dairy items with high fat, little or no dairy proteins can often be tolerated. For example, you could put heavy cream in your coffee, but not half and half. Or, unbelievably, her sister in law could apparently eat Haagen Daz but not Breyers ice cream. Butter, hard cheese, etc. also could fall in the 'maybe' category. That seems to be where I'm at but I'm leery of proceeding further. What about puddings and other items with cooked milk; what about yogurt?
I'd like to accumulate more anecdotal evidence about this; I've read plenty of material on the web about the guidelines, I'm looking for personal experience. TIA... |
