Please look at this rash

My older ds fell asleep on the couch last night and I just put him to bed in his clothes. So, this moring when I went to get him changed I saw a rash on his back and belly and spot on his leg. He had to have his chicken pox shot for school and that was back in Nov. Here is a link and click on photo to enlarge.

looks like irritation? If he's not acting sick then I'd say it is.

the chicken pox vax does not prevent you from gettting it--it only makes your chances more slim. and if you do get chicken pox you won't get it as bad.

however, i don't think that's what it is---looks more like an irritation rash. what kind of pj's did he wear or what material was the couch??

I agree and believe I saw this first hand with my DD. She is fully vax'd and got what I think (and the school thought) was chicken pox. But my ped will argue with you up and down that there are too many viral infections that look like chicken pox but aren't, that once your vaccinated you are immune to them like if you would have gotten the actual virus.

But yeah those don't look like chicken pox.

I just don't know what it could be. As far as I know nothing has changed. He was wearing an undershirt his grandma gave him but, I wash all of the clothes she gives us because she uses detergent with smelly perfume in it. He acts fine, I just don't like rashes because you don't know what's causing it.

it was probably the shirt from gma!! i'd say detergent residue that irritated him. just wash it another time or two!!

Now he has it all over his body. I think it might be Fith disease as last night his cheeks were all red. Hopfully it will go away soon. Thanks ladies!

Looks like some kind of hives or heat rash, could also be a viral. What's his temperature like? Does he have a runny nose? Has he eaten anything out of the ordinary? You said he has it on his legs, so I would doubt that it's caused by the shirt from Grama.

What has your Dr. said? Please keep us posted.
