that's the spirit mama! try again! bean soups are GREAT and there's alot of great ideas here! I toss in diced potatoes, carrots, minced garlic, chopped onions and many of the seasonings mentioned above.

Next time too, remember that soup is almost always better the second day because the flavor "steeps" I find that especially true with bean soups. I use a LOT of seasoning with beans. Good luck next time!

Soy sauce has always been a life or soup saver for me along with the pp suggestions.

Another idea is to add some vinegar and sugar. I don't eat meat though, that might be flat out nasty with the sausage, I don't know.

We make soup with great northern beans, carrots, and onions. We each individually add sugar and vinegar to our bowls. (It's called Senate Soup).

It's super quick and easy, and very yummy.

I bet all it needs is salt. Put some in a bowl and add salt until it tastes better. I find my bean soups need a good amount of salt. You could also add a large can of tomato puree to it and cook it another 20 min or so. But do add the salt.
