Re: How do you make a BIG cookie?

I have just made regular dough and then spread it out on a cookie sheet with edges (or a pizza pan). I DO monitor it carefully while it's baking to be sure it's cooking evenly and maybe move it around in the oven.

I use a pizza pan and make the dough like regular and then press it into the pan. I just did this for my sister's birthday in December. I put parchment paper down in the bottom to make it easier to get out, but it isn't necessary.

You can put parchment paper in the oven? Is that the same as wax paper?

parchment paper is similar, but no wax. Its great for under cookies or cakes for easy nonstick removal.

I agree with the PPs but wanted to add it's a bad idea to sub wax paper for parchment as it burns.

I've made big cookies lots of times w/o parchment and never had a problem removing them from the pan as long as you grease it well

be sure to cut it while its still a little warm. i make cookies like this for my old job (bush cook for 80+ tree planters at a time). it will save you a lot of time and will stop crispy parts from breaking off.

Wax paper will burn and smoke in the oven.

Parchment is essentially a pregreased paper meant to be used in the oven, just trim it up so non hangs off the pan.

Re: How do you make a BIG cookie?

This is absolutely awesome and so much better than a regular cookie made with cookie dough! This came from a friend.

Big Kookie (like the ones from The Great American Cookie Co.)
1 Yellow Cake Mix
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
2 tbsp Water
Small Bag of Chocolate Chips

Mix first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Once mixed add the chocolate chips.
Spread into a round greased pizza pan. (for parties I use the foil pizza pans so that I can just leave it)
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes

Re: How do you make a BIG cookie?

I have always just made regular dough then spread it on a pizza pan. I have never used parchment paper with it and it always turns out yummy!
